How it Works Step 1 : Add some Ezymix compost maker powder to the bottom of the bucketStep 2 : Place the filter inside the bucketStep 3 : Take a single sheet of paper (newspaper) and place it on the filterStep 4 : Add your solid food waste to the bucket. Do not add any semi-solid or liquid items. Refer to the Do’s and Don’t’s section to know more about what can be added to the bucketStep 5 : Sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of Ezymix compost maker powder evenly over the entire surface of the food waste. We recommend adding more powder initially, till you get the hang of composting.Step 6 : Seal the bucket with the lid provided. Do not open the lid often as the microbes work best in anaerobic conditions (absence of air).Step 7 : Keep the bucket away from direct sunlight, as excess heat will kill the microbes. Keep the bucket indoor or in a covered balcony. Repeat steps 4,5,6 till the bucket is completely full.Step 8 : Once the bucket is full make sure the lid is closed tight. You do not have to open the lid for next 10 to 12 days. During the fermentation stage, you need to harvest this liquid known as boka tea.Step 9 : After 10 to 12 days your food waste would have pickled. If you see white mould then it is good sign. Bin should have a sour pickle kind of smell. If there is no white mould on it then something Step 10 : After the food waste is pickled ,it is time to cure the pickle and make the compost.Take the coco peat block and place it in any container. Add 4 litre of water into that wait for 20 minutes.Step 11 : Last process is very simple ,You need to create layers of pickled waste and cocopeat. Take a big pot or any container that can take up to 20 kg of compost, add 2 to 3 inches of pickled waste and 3 to 4 inches of coco peat Step 12 : Repeat the steps 1 to 11 for the second bucket.
