excellent germination rate. It is beyond my expectation that drumstick can be germinated from seeds. Now, small branches has came out from the main stem. It looks beautiful. Germination is 100%.
Drumstick pods should be harvested when they are immature or half mature. Older fruits lose their texture, flavour and become inedible.
Sandy red soil or black soil is well suited for drumstick trees.
Plants are drought tolerant. These can be irrigated every 15 days.
The ratoon crop is obtained by pruning its trees to a height of one meter after first harvesting is over. The plants start to bear fruits 4-5 months after head back pruning. Such ratooning can be done back to back 3 times.
