How to Care For Sansevieria Moonshine (Snake plant)

Soil: Plant can grow in well-drained sandy loam to a rather heavy soil.

Pot Size: Snake plant looks good in small, fancy (ceramic or metal) pot (6-8 inches). Plant prefers compact, pot bound conditions.

Potting/Transplanting: Tightly hold the entire bottom clump that binds the leaves together. Plant the saplings in a pot along with root-ball of original soil. Carefully place the plant in the middle of the container & cover the roots completely with remaining soil.

Repotting: Change the pot every year. Separate the extra side suckers before transplanting.

Sunlight: Snake plant can grow well in full sunlight, partial shade or even full shade.

Water: Twice a month is enough. Plant prefers dry conditions. Snake plant can go for days without watering. Too much watering tends to rot the plants at the soil line.

Fertiliser: Provide liquid cow-dung or compost tea every three months for the best look.

Temperature: Snake plant tolerates a broad range of temperatures.

Humidity: Humidity has no effect on the plant.

Pruning: No pruning required.

Propagation: Plant can be propagated easily by a division of suckers. They may also be raised by leaf cuttings of about 7-8 cm long, placed in a sandy soil.

Companion Plants: Ferns, Dracaena, Aralia, Syngonium, Rhoeo, Ficus.
