    Product Details

Capsicum is a colourful, nutrient-rich vegetable. A rewarding addition to Indian home gardens. Slow to start, but productive once established.

    • Rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, and antioxidants
    • One of the best ways to add crunch and colour to your daily cooking
    • Toss it into sabzi, stir-fries, salads, or stuff and roast it
    • Grow it organically in Ugaoo's Veggie Mix Soil, chemical-free capsicum all season long
    Sowing
    • Sow seeds 0.5–1 cm deep in a seedling tray. Use Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix for better results.
    • Best time to sow: October to February, avoiding frost and peak summer heat.
    • During this time, keep it indoors in low light and maintain good humidity.
    Germination
    • Seeds sprout in 8–14 days; capsicum is slower to germinate, so patience is needed.
    • Keep soil moist during this period.
    • Once sprouts appear, move to a bright spot with direct sun.
    Transplanting
    • Seedlings are ready to transplant once they have 4–5 true leaves, usually after 30–35 days.
    • Transplant into a larger pot or grow bag (at least 12–14 inches deep) with a well draining soil mix.
    • Transplant in the evening or on a cloudy day to reduce transplant shock.
    • Water well immediately after transplanting and keep in partial shade for 2–3 days before moving to full sun.
    • Provide a light stake or Ugaoo's Hardwood Sticks at the time of transplanting, as the plant can bend under the weight of fruits.
    Growing
    • Needs direct sun, at least 6 hours daily.
    • Water regularly to keep soil consistently moist, but avoid waterlogging. Soil should be well-draining.
    • Use a pot with drainage holes.
    • Space plants 40–45 cm apart, rows 45–60 cm apart.
    • Feed with Ugaoo's cow manure every 15-20 days. Use Ugaoo's neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Don't let ripe fruits sit too long on the plant. They can soften, wrinkle, or attract pests.
    • Reduced flowering and smaller fruit size signal the plant is nearing the end of its cycle.
    • Extreme heat from April onwards can stress the plant and reduce fruiting.
    • Once the plant stops producing well, pull it out and sow fresh next season.
    Harvesting
    • Fruits are ready for harvest in 70–90 days from transplanting.
    • Harvest when fruits reach full size and firm up, in green or their final ripe colour (red/yellow/orange), depending on preference.
    • Cut fruits with a bit of stem attached using a sharp knife or scissors, rather than pulling.
    • Pick regularly, the more you harvest, the more the plant continues to fruit.

High-quality seeds with excellent germination rates. Customers said "almost 100% seeds germinated" and praised how they "make home gardening so easy." Seeds germinate quickly though some noted patience is needed. One customer received red instead of green variety but was satisfied. Suggestion to include watering and fertilizer instructions.

    Organic Vegetables

I have ordered for Green Chilli Seeds, Spinach Seeds, Corriander Seeds along with capsicum seeds. To my surprise all have germinated well.
Only difference was the capsicum turned out to be red, actually I ordered for green one. But we were happy as it was organic.

    Frequently asked questions

    Can you grow capsicum indoors?

Absolutely! Capsicum (bell peppers) thrive indoors with good care. Just give them a sunny windowsill or proper grow lights, a deep pot with a well-draining medium like Ugaoo's Pot-O-Mix, and regular watering. They love warmth, so keep them cozy. With patience and a little love, you'll have homegrown, crunchy capsicums in your kitchen garden!

Can I grow Capsicum from their seeds?

Indeed! You can grow capsicum from their seeds—plant them in moist, well-draining soil. You can either start them indoors in seedling trays or outdoors in the ground directly. Just pick a warm, sunny spot, and your capsicum seeds will germinate within 14-18 days. With good care, you'll soon have your own fresh, homegrown capsicums!

    Can Capsicum grow in winter?

They can, but they need a little extra warmth! Capsicum plants prefer temperatures above 15°C, so if it’s chilly, grow them indoors near a sunny window or under grow lights. In mild winters, they’ll survive outdoors with some protection. Keep them cozy, and they’ll reward you with crunchy, green peppers!

How many months does it take to grow Capsicum?

Capsicum plants take around 55-60 days to go from seed to harvest-ready peppers. They start sprouting in 14-18 days, grow steadily, and begin flowering in 2 months. With good care and lots of love—sunlight, water, and regular feeding—you’ll have vibrant, crunchy capsicums ready to pick in no time!
