Our Story
Hey there! I'm Siddhant Bhalinge, the Founder and CEO of Ugaoo, and I'd love to share our story with you.
It's a story of passion, perseverance, and a deep love for nature that's been passed down in my family for three generations.
Rooted in tradition
Our story began with Namdeo Umaji
The oldest seed company in India, founded by my great-grandfather in 1885.
As a young boy, I spent my days in his Byculla shop, surrounded by the promise of life contained in tiny seeds. Those formative years really were the stepping stones of Ugaoo’s own journey.
Inspired by this legacy, I went off to the U.S. to pursue a degree in landscaping Architecture.
When I returned, I knew the time was right to blend our family’s historic agricultural roots with modern, cutting-edge technology.
That’s how Ugaoo came to life in 2015.
It's all about bringing a differentiated experience to you.
So we opened up channels, established organised retail, and set ourselves apart from the competition through three core pillars:

Our plants always enhance the spaces they occupy. We make concerted efforts in not only nurturing our plants in the best way possible, but making them look good too.

In 2020, the world changed. As people got confined to their homes thanks to COVID-19, they rediscovered the life-affirming value that plants add to one’s life.
That’s when Ugaoo’s purpose became crystal clear to me:
to inspire a world where every plant journey is a personal revolution of inner change and growth.
It's not just about beautifying spaces; it's about inspiring personal revolutions that help both nature and humans to thrive.

Today, we're a thriving community of over 250 plant enthusiasts, and still growing!
But Ugaoo isn't just about us.
It's about the wonderful tribal families who work with us in Talegaon, where our 25-acre farm is nurtured by their loving hands.
It’s our business partners who believe in our vision, and even Rani and Lakshmi, our beloved cows, who remind us daily of our life-giving connection to nature.
We're deeply committed to supporting our local community in the same way they support us - with love and care.
But we don't just stop at plants.
