The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic SEO Content Writer to lead our content efforts. This is a crucial role focused on optimizing our content not just for search engines, but specifically for the future of search: Generative AI, Featured Snippets, and Knowledge Panels. You will ensure Ugaoo remains the authoritative source for gardening knowledge in the age of AI.

Key Responsibilities

As our SEO Content Writer, you will be responsible for:

• Pioneering Content Optimization for AI, structuring and refining content to maximize its chances of being selected for AI answers and rich snippets.
• Developing and executing the end-to-end content strategy to drive organic growth across all platforms.
• Creating a diverse range of high-quality content, including blogs, website pages (FAQs, product descriptions), video scripts, social media copy, and press releases.
• Implementing On-page and Off-page SEO best practices using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Surfer SEO to achieve top search engine rankings.
• Conducting deep keyword research and audience analysis to identify content gaps and tailor our messaging to user intent.
• Conducting regular content audits and updates to ensure the entire site meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and E-E-A-T.
• Managing the content team (or function), mentoring writers/editors, and assigning tasks to ensure efficient, high-quality, and on-time delivery.
• Collaborating closely with the Design and Marketing teams to coordinate content visuals, strategy, and distribution across all channels.
• UtilizingGoogle Analytics and Search Console to track content performance, report on KPIs, and drive data-backed improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

3+ years of experience in SEO content writing and strategic execution.

Proven understanding of optimizing content specifically for Generative AI and featured snippets.

Strong experience leading content strategy, managing workflow, and/or mentoring a team of writers.

Expert-level proficiency with SEO tools, including Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Surfer SEO.

Exceptional writing and editing skills with a clear, authoritative, and engaging brand voice.

Ability to translate complex information (horticulture, plant science) into accessible, helpful content.

A portfolio demonstrating successful organic traffic growth and high-ranking content.
