    Methi is the most useful herb in any Indian kitchen and one of the fastest to grow at home. Sow once and you can harvest in under a month.

    • Rich in iron, protein, fibre, and vitamins A, C, and K.
    • One of the fastest-growing kitchen herbs for Indian homes.
    • Use fresh leaves in parathas, methi sabzi, dal, and chutneys.

    Growing
    • Needs 4–5 hours of sunlight daily. Morning sun and afternoon shade is ideal.
    • Water with a gentle spray daily. Soil should stay moist but never waterlogged.
    • Use a pot with drainage holes.
    • Space plants 5–8 cm apart, rows 10–15 cm apart.
    • Feed with cow manure every 15 days. Use neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Do not let the plant flower for too long. Once flowers appear, leaves turn bitter.
    • If a flower stalk appears, harvest everything immediately.
    • Warmer temperatures from February onwards trigger bolting.
    • Once it bolts, pull the plant out and sow fresh in the next cool season.
    Harvesting
    • Leaves are ready for harvest in 20–30 days.
    • Cut the top growth, leaving 3–4 cm of stem. The plant will regrow.
    • Harvest regularly; the more you cut, the more it produces.
    • You can harvest methi for 2–3 cycles before the plant turns bitter and bolts.
