FAQs
Can I grow capsicum from their seeds?
Absolutely! Capsicum seeds are super easy to grow and don't even demand any gardening expertise from you. Simply start them in a well-draining medium like coco peat, keep the medium moist, and watch the sprout to life! Once your seeds have sprouted and grown at least 2 true leaves, transplant them into well-draining soil like Garden Soil Mix or Pot-O-Mix, giving them warmth, sunshine, and lots of love— in just 50-60 days, you’ll have baby capsicum plants ready to spice up your garden!
Can you eat Red capsicum seeds?
Technically, yes — red capsicum seeds are edible! They’re not toxic, but they can be a bit bitter and tough. Most people remove them for better taste and texture. So while munching a few won't hurt, your dish will definitely thank you if you skip them!
Is Red capsicum healthy?
Oh yes, red capsicum is a total health hero! It's packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, and a sweet crunch that’s low in calories but big on benefits. Great for immunity, eye health, and glowing skin — it’s like nature’s colorful multivitamin in veggie form. Snack it, cook it, love it!
What is the difference between Red and Green capsicum?
Red and green capsicum are the same veggie at different stages of ripeness! Green is harvested earlier, so it’s slightly bitter and crisp. Red stays on the plant longer, turning sweeter and richer in nutrients like vitamin C and beta-carotene. Same plant, different vibes — from bold and grassy to sweet and mellow!
Which is the best variety of Capsicum?
The “best” capsicum variety depends on your taste and garden goals! For sweetness, go for California Wonder or Red Bell. For a colorful twist, try Yellow Belle or Purple Beauty. Want compact plants? Mini Bell is perfect for pots. Each variety brings its flavor and flair — pick your pepper personality!
