Product Details

Sunflower Sungold is a cheerful, fully double variety. It's known for its fluffy, golden-yellow blooms. A bright, feel-good addition to any Indian garden.

Produces dense, double blooms in vibrant golden-yellow shades
A fast, rewarding flower that adds instant cheer to balconies and gardens
Great for pots, gardens borders, garden beds, and cut flower arrangements
Grow it organically in Ugaoo's Potting Mix, chemical-free blooms all season long

Sowing

Sow seeds 1–1.5 cm deep directly in the pot. Use Ugaoo's Pot-o-Mix for better results.
Best time to sow: February - March, avoiding frost and peak summer heat.
During this time, keep it in low light and maintain good humidity.

Germination

Seeds sprout in 5–10 days.
Keep soil moist during this period.
Once sprouts appear, move to a bright spot with direct sun.

Growing

Needs direct sun, at least 6 hours daily.
Water regularly to keep soil consistently moist, but avoid waterlogging. Soil should be well-draining.
Use a pot with drainage holes.
Space plants 25–30 cm apart, rows 30–35 cm apart.
Feed with Ugaoo's cow manure every 20–25 days. Use Ugaoo's neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
Provide light staking if needed, as stems can bend under the weight of the flower head.

Aftercare & Post-Harvest

Don't let the flower head sit too long on the plant.
Drooping petals and a browning centre signal the flower is past its peak.
Extreme heat or heavy rain can stress the plant and shorten its flowering period.
Once flowering ends, pull the plant out and sow fresh for the next season, or leave the head to dry for seed collection.

Harvesting

Flowers are ready for harvest/blooming in 60-80 days.
Cut flowers in the cool morning hours for the best vase life, snipping just above a leaf node.
A healthy plant can keep flowering for 3–4 weeks once blooming begins.

The seeds were healthy. Sprouted in two weeks, I sowed in monsoon and got buds in September and one flowered too. But the flower looks different, it’s more like a sunflower, unless it’s going to get more petals later. Overall happy with the purchase.

The seeds have good germination rate. My first batch of seedling out of these seeds got destroyed when I was transferring them to bigger pot. I planted them again with small kids in my house, they loved the activity and I got smilly seedlings once again. Really happy with the seed response.
