Product Details
Green Cucumber is a cooling, fast-growing vine vegetable. It's a summer favourite in Indian home gardens. Refreshing, easy to grow, and quick to yield.
- Rich in water content, vitamin K, and antioxidants
- One of the best ways to stay cool and hydrated through summer
- Toss it into salads, raita, sandwiches, or slice it fresh as a snack
- Grow it organically in Ugaoo's Veggie Mix Soil, chemical-free cucumbers all season long
Approx. seeds per gram: 42
Sowing
- Sow seeds 1–1.5 cm deep directly in the pot. Use Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix for better results.
- Best time to sow: February to July. This avoids frost and cold winter months.
- Keep it in a warm, bright spot during this time. Maintain good humidity.
Germination
Seeds sprout in 5–8 days.
Keep soil moist during this period.
Once sprouts appear, move to a spot with direct sun.
Growing
- Needs direct sun, at least 6 hours daily.
- Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist. Avoid waterlogging. Soil should be well-draining.
- Use a large pot or grow bag with drainage holes, at least 12–14 inches deep.
- Space plants 30–45 cm apart, rows 60–90 cm apart.
- Provide a trellis or support at an early stage, since cucumber is a climbing vine.
- Feed with Ugaoo's cow manure every 15–20 days. Use Ugaoo's neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
Aftercare & Post-Harvest
- Don't let fruits sit too long on the vine. They turn yellow, seedy, and bitter.
- Reduced flowering and smaller fruit size signal the plant is nearing the end of its cycle.
- Extreme heat or heavy monsoon rain can stress the plant and reduce yield.
- Once the plant stops producing well, pull it out and sow fresh next season.
Harvesting
- Fruits are ready for harvest in 50–65 days.
- Harvest when fruits are firm, bright green, and reach the desired length; don't let them turn yellow or overgrow.
- Cut fruits with a bit of stem attached using a sharp knife or scissors, rather than pulling.
- Pick regularly. The more you harvest, the more the plant continues to fruit.

This is the review for cucumber seeds bought from ugaoo. I had planted them around 21 days ago. Most of the seeds seems to have germinated with some even flowering. Quiet happy with the seed quality. I would like to suggest to ugaoo to put a compiled catalogue of photographs suggesting various growth stages of plant. This will help beginners like me understanding and comparing whether the growth is going smoothly or any action is required.

Frequently asked questions
What are the long green Cucumbers called?
The long green cucumbers are called English Cucumbers or Burpless Cucumbers! They’re slender, crisp, have thin skin, and are almost seedless—perfect for fresh salads, sandwiches, or just snacking. Unlike regular cucumbers, they don’t need peeling and have a mild, refreshing taste.
In which month do Cucumbers grow?
Cucumbers love warm weather and grow best in spring and summer! In India, the ideal sowing months are February to June and September to November in moderate climates. They thrive in temperatures between 20-30°C with plenty of sunlight. Plant them in Ugaoo’s Pot-O-Mix, keep them hydrated, and enjoy a crunchy, homegrown harvest!
Where do Cucumbers grow best?
Cucumbers grow best in warm, sunny spots with well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. They thrive in temperatures between 20-30°C and need 6-8 hours of sunlight daily. Whether in a garden bed, pots, or vertical trellis, use a well-draining medium, keep it moist, and enjoy a fresh, crunchy harvest!
Do Cucumbers need full sun?
Indeed! Cucumbers are sun-lovers and thrive in the full sun, needing at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for the best growth. Less sun can lead to weak vines and fewer fruits. Plant them in a warm, sunny spot, use Ugaoo’s Pot-O-Mix for nutrient-rich soil, and keep them well-watered for juicier, crispier cucumbers!
