It thrives on balanced care, requiring regular watering and bright, indirect or low-light conditions to thrive. Here’s everything you need to know about this stunning indoor plant:●Know About the Peace Lily Plant: Features and Benefits
The Peace Lily, scientifically known as the Spathiphyllum plant, is a popular indoor plant. Its allure and charm lies in its dark green, glossy, and tapering leaves; and its low maintenance requirements reel people in. Whether you’re a first-time gardener or an experienced enthusiast, this indoor stunner can be the perfect addition to your garden. Here are a few key features and benefits you must know:1. Air Purification
The Peace Lily is known to be one of the best air purifier plants in the world of indoor plants. For this very reason, it is often used as a bedroom plant to ensure cleaner, healthier air. The leaves of this plant are known to absorb commonly found toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde, and produce more oxygen in return. This enables a healthier space indoors, promoting a better quality of life.2. Glossy, Tapering Leaves
The long tapering leaves of the Peace Lily indoors are known for their beautiful, glossy texture. These are often oval-shaped leaves that narrow to a point, giving them an elegant and classy look.3. Pearly White Peace Lily Flowers
The pearly white flowers of the Peace Lily plant bloom between Spring to Monsoon months. They are relatively regular bloomers and grow to become a thing of great beauty and adoration. These white flowers last for around 4 weeks following which they change colors to adapt to the color of the leaves. They slowly become a glossy, medium green.4. Toxicity Levels
While stunning, the Peace Lily plant is toxic to kids and pets, and can cause damage if ingested. So, make sure to place it out of their reach when decorating.●Peace Lily Plant Care: Basics About How to Take Care of a Peace Lily Plant
While the Peace Lily is a low maintenance stunner, it still need some of its basic requirements to be met in order to thrive and do well in the environment you provide it with. Peace Lily care is quite easy when you know what to do! So, let’s look at some of its basic care requirements:1. Light Requirements
The Peace Lily indoors does well in essentially two types of light conditions. You can either keep this plant in bright, indirect sunlight or in low light conditions. It can thrive in both, giving you fast-growing, beautiful foliage and pearly white flowers in the right season.2. Watering & Soil Requirements
This indoor potted plant requires well-drained soil and good aeration to ensure optimal growth. Remember to water the plant deeply twice a week. You can make use of a good watering can and water the plant near the roots, from all sides thoroughly till all the excess water drains out of the drainage holes. If you’re unsure about when to water, you can also make use of the “Finger Dip” test. Stick your finger into the soil up to your second knuckle - if your finger comes out dry, your Peace Lily plant needs to be watered. However, if it comes out moist, you don’t need to water the plant immediately.3. Humidity
Originating from the tropical regions of South America, the Peace Lily indoor requires higher levels of humidity. So, remember to keep this plant in a humid and moist environment. If you’re unable to mist the plant manually as regularly as it needs, you can place a humidifier near it. However, if that does not work out well, you can place a tray of water, filled with pebbles, near the plant to ensure better moisture environmentally.4. Peace Lily Fertilizer
You must remember that fertilizer burn is a thing due to which it is better to under-fertilize, as compared to over-fertilize. The amount & frequency of fertilization your plant needs depends on the light conditions that it regularly resides in. If bright light conditions, fertilizer your Peace Lily every 4-6 weeks. However, remember that if it is in a low light area, it will require less fertilization. So, in that case, fertilize it only perhaps every 8-10 weeks. You can also make use of natural fertilizers & boosters such as Epsom Salt to promote better flowering.5. Repotting
Plants need to be repotted as they continue to grow and require more space than before to be able to sustain their growth with sufficient nutrients. Giving them more space will allow them to soak up more nutrients and grow better.Testimonials
