ZZ Black (Zamioculcas zamiifolia 'Raven') is a striking variety of ZZ Plant with deep, almost black-purple foliage. It is as tough and low-maintenance as the regular ZZ but far more dramatic looking.
Water every 10–14 days. Its roots store water, so always let the soil dry fully before watering the plant next.
New leaves emerge bright green and slowly darken to near black as they mature. This is completely normal and not a sign of any problem.
The Black ZZ plant is in it for the long haul! With good care, it can live up to 10 years or more! Its secret? Slow growth, drought tolerance, and a tough nature ensure a hardier plant! Just water it once in two weeks, keep it in low/medium light, and fertilize once a month with a slow-release fertilizer like Ugaoo's Vermicompost, and it’ll be your leafy companion for many years to come!
Yes, but it’s a rare sight indoors! Black ZZ plants generally flower but only in their natural habitats. When flowering, they produce small, cream-colored flowers near the base, similar to a Peace Lily’s bloom. However, this usually happens in mature plants and only under ideal conditions—think bright light and just the right amount of neglect! While not known for their flowers, ZZs still steal the show with their glossy, stunning foliage!
