    Celosia Plumosa, or ‘Fresh Look’ Celosia has brightly coloured plumes, that look like a fire burning. The Celosia Plumosa is easy to grow from seeds and easy to care for. These plants are a fantastic if you want to introduce some variety to your garden. What’s better, they thrive in hot and sunny environment!

    Number of seeds per gram (aprox): 1530

    Sowing
    • Sow seeds 0.25-0.5 cm deep in a seedling tray. Seeds are very fine; sow sparingly. We suggest Ugaoo's Potting Mix for better results.
    • Best time to sow: February to June, when the weather is warm.
    • During this time, keep it indoors in low light and maintain good humidity.
    Germination
    • Seeds sprout in 7-10 days.
    • Keep soil moist during this period.
    • Once sprouts appear, move to a bright spot with direct sun.
    Growing
    • Needs direct sun, at least 6 hours daily.
    • Water when the topsoil feels dry. Celosia dislikes soggy roots, so don't overwater.
    • Use a pot with drainage holes.
    • Space plants 20-25 cm apart.
    • Pinch the growing tip when the plant is 10-15 cm tall for a bushier plant with more plumes.
    • Feed with cow manure every 20 days. Use neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Celosia is an annual and completes its lifecycle in one season.
    • Remove faded plumes to encourage side shoots and more blooms.
    • Heavy rain can flatten plumes; give some shelter in peak monsoon.
    • Once the plant declines, pull it out. Let a few plumes dry on the plant to collect seeds.
    Harvesting
    • Flowers bloom in 60-75 days.
    • For fresh arrangements, cut plumes once fully formed and before they start to fade.
    • For drying, cut at peak colour and hang upside down in a dark, airy spot.
    • Plumes stay colourful on the plant for several weeks.
