    Chinese Cabbage (Napa Cabbage) is a fast-growing, mild-flavoured cool-season vegetable that grows beautifully in Indian winters. Crisp, light, and endlessly useful in Asian and Indian cooking.

    • Crisp, mild leaves great in stir-fries, soups, noodles, and salads.
    • Rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, and antioxidants.
    • Quick-growing cool-season crop ready in under 10 weeks.
    • Grow it organically with Ugaoo's Veggie Mix Soil, chemical-free greens all winter long.
    Sowing
    • Sow seeds 0.5-1 cm deep in a seedling tray. We recommend Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix for better results.
    • Best time to sow: September to November, in the cool season.
    • During this time, keep it in a cool, bright spot and maintain good humidity.
    Germination
    • Seeds sprout in 4-7 days.
    • Keep soil moist during this period.
    • Once sprouts appear, move to a spot with morning sun.
    Transplanting
    • Transplant once seedlings have 3-4 true leaves, usually after 15-20 days.
    • Transplant into a pot (at least 25 cm deep) with Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix.
    • Transplant in the evening to reduce stress. Water well immediately after.
    Growing
    • Needs 4-5 hours of sunlight. Partial shade is fine.
    • Water when the topsoil feels dry. Keep soil consistently moist.
    • Use a pot with drainage holes.
    • Space plants 30-35 cm apart.
    • Feed with cow manure every 15 days. Use neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Chinese Cabbage bolts quickly when temperatures rise.
    • If a central stalk appears, harvest immediately as leaves turn bitter.
    • Sow fresh seeds the following September for the next cool season.
    Harvesting
    • Heads are ready in 50-70 days.
    • Harvest the whole head by cutting at the base.
    • Alternatively, harvest outer leaves as cut-and-come-again from 30 days.
    • Harvest before the plant bolts and sends up a central flower stalk.

    I have sowed it at the same time as broccoli and bok choi from ugao and only the broccoli has germinated. At 1st i thought it would take time but it didn't have any sign of germination and remained as it is.
