    Gomphrena, or Globe Amaranth, is a tough, cheerful flower that looks just as beautiful fresh as it does dried. Round, papery blooms that last for months and thrive in Indian heat.

    • Round, globe-shaped blooms in pink, magenta, red, purple, white, and orange.
    • Excellent dried flower; retains colour and shape for months after cutting.
    • Heat tolerant and long-blooming; one of the most low-maintenance flowers for Indian gardens.
    • Grow it organically in Ugaoo's Potting Mix, vibrant blooms all season long.
    Sowing
    • Sow seeds 0.5 cm deep in a seedling tray.
    • We recommend soaking seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing - it improves germination noticeably.
    • We suggest Ugaoo's Potting Mix for better results.
    • Best time to sow: February to May, when the weather is warm.
    • During this time, keep it in a warm, bright spot and maintain good humidity.
    Germination
    • Seeds sprout in 7–14 days.
    • Keep soil moist during this period.
    • Once sprouts appear, move to a bright spot with direct morning sun.
    Transplanting
    • Seedlings are ready to transplant once they have 3–4 true leaves, usually after 20–25 days.
    • We suggest transplanting into a pot (at least 20 cm deep) with Ugaoo's Potting Mix.
    • Transplant in the evening or on a cloudy day.
    • Water well after transplanting and keep in partial shade for 1–2 days before full sun.
    Growing
    • Needs direct sun, at least 6 hours daily.
    • Water when the topsoil feels dry. Gomphrena is drought tolerant once established - don't overwater.
    • Use a pot with drainage holes.
    • Space plants 25–30 cm apart.
    • Feed with cow manure every 20 days. Use neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    • Pinch back young plants early - it encourages bushier growth and more flowers.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Gomphrena is highly heat tolerant and keeps blooming through the warm months.
    • Cut back hard after the main flush of blooms to encourage a new round of flowering.
    • Once the plant is completely spent, pull it out and sow fresh the following February.
    Harvesting
    • Flowers bloom in 60–70 days.
    • Cut flowers just before they fully open for the best dried arrangements.
    • For fresh use, cut in the morning and place immediately in water.
    • The more you cut, the more the plant produces.
