    Green Onions or Spring Onions are a kitchen garden essential; quick to grow, endlessly useful, and freshest when cut right from your own pot.

    • Fresh green tops with a mild, crisp onion flavour for everyday use.
    • Rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, and folate.
    • Both green leaves and white bulb are edible; nothing goes to waste.
    • Grow it organically in Ugaoo's Veggie Mix Soil, fresh spring onions whenever you need them.
    Sowing
    • Sow seeds 0.5–1 cm deep in a seedling tray or directly in the pot.
    • Use Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix for better results.
    • Best time to sow: October to March, avoiding peak summer heat.
    • Keep it in a warm, dark spot and maintain good humidity.
    Germination
    • Seeds sprout in 7–14 days.
    • Keep soil moist during this period.
    • Once sprouts appear, move to a bright spot with some direct sun.
    Transplanting
    • Seedlings can be transplanted once they are 5–8 cm tall, usually after 20–25 days.
    • Transplant into a pot (at least 20 cm deep) with Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix.
    • Transplant in the evening to reduce stress.
    Growing
    • Needs 4–6 hours of sunlight daily.
    • Water when the topsoil feels dry. Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
    • Use a pot with drainage holes.
    • Space plants 5–10 cm apart, rows 15–20 cm apart.
    • Feed with cow manure every 15 days. Use neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Green onions will regrow after cutting. Keep watering and feeding for continued harvests.
    • Once the plant starts to bolt and flower, pull it and sow fresh.
    • Warmer temperatures from March onwards trigger bolting.
    • Sow fresh seeds for every season for a steady supply.
    Harvesting
    • Green leaves are ready in 50–70 days.
    • Cut leaves 2–3 cm above the soil; the plant will regrow.
    • For whole spring onions with white bulb, pull after 60–80 days when the bulb forms.
    • You can harvest leaves multiple times before pulling the whole plant.
