    Lupins are among the most dramatic and beautiful cool-season flowers you can grow in India. Tall, vivid spikes in a stunning range of colours that transform any winter garden.

    • Tall, striking flower spikes in purple, pink, red, yellow, white, and bicoloured varieties.
    • A cool-season beauty that thrives through Indian winters with minimal care.

    Sowing
    • Soak seeds in water for 12-24 hours before sowing to improve germination.
    • Sow 1-2 cm deep directly in the pot or garden bed. Lupins dislike transplanting so direct sowing is best.
    • We suggest Ugaoo's Potting Mix for better results.
    • Best time to sow: October to January, in the cool season.
    • Keep soil cool and moist after sowing.

    • Seeds sprout in 10-14 days.
    • Keep soil moist during this period.
    • Once sprouts appear, move to a bright spot with direct morning sun.
    Transplanting

    NA - Lupins dislike root disturbance. Always direct sow where they are to grow.

    • Needs 5-6 hours of direct sun daily.
    • Water when the topsoil feels dry. Don't overwater.
    • Use a pot with good drainage holes.
    • Space plants 30-40 cm apart.
    • Feed lightly with cow manure every 20 days.
    • Use neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Lupins decline as temperatures rise from February.
    • Once flowering slows, pull the plant. Leave the roots in the soil to decompose and enrich it naturally.
    • Collect some seed pods for re-sowing next October.
    Harvesting
    • Flower spikes are ready in 70-90 days.
    • Cut spikes in the morning for the best vase life.
    • Deadhead spent spikes to encourage a second flush of blooms.
