FAQs
Which month to sow African marigold seeds in India?
In India, the best time to sow African marigold seeds is June to July for monsoon planting and September to October for winter blooms. These sunny giants love warmth and light, so give them full sun, and they’ll reward you with big, bold blooms that last all season long!
How to grow African marigold from seeds?
Growing African marigolds from seeds is a breeze! Sow the seeds ¼ inch deep in well-draining soil, keep it moist, and place the pot in full sun. Seeds germinate in 7-21 days, and blooms pop up in about 8-10 weeks. Low effort, high reward—your garden’s about to glow golden!
How long do African marigolds take to germinate?
African marigold seeds usually germinate in 15-21 days with good care and lots of love. Just give them warmth, moisture, and sunlight, and they’ll be up and growing in no time! In just 8-10 weeks, you will have stunning marigolds thriving in your garden!
Can I soak marigold seeds before planting?
You can, but it’s not a must! Soaking marigold seeds for a few hours can help speed up germination a bit, especially in cooler climates. But these little champs germinate pretty easily even without soaking. Just sow them in moist soil, give them sunshine, and they’ll happily pop up in a few days!
Do African marigolds smell?
Oh yes, African marigolds have a strong, musky scent—some say it’s earthy, others call it spicy! It’s not your typical floral fragrance, but it’s a natural pest repellent, which makes it a garden hero. Whether you love the smell or not, the bugs definitely don’t!
