    Product Details

Pak Choi is one of the quickest and most rewarding vegetables to grow in Indian home gardens through the cooler months. Mild, crisp, and nutritious, ready in under 10 weeks and extremely versatile in Asian and Indian cooking.

    • Rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, and antioxidants.
    • Mild, crisp leaves and juicy stems great in stir-fries, soups, and noodle dishes.
    • Quick growing and compact; perfect for pots, balconies, and small spaces.
    • Grow it organically in Ugaoo's Veggie Mix Soil, fresh pak choi all season long.
    Sowing
    • Sow seeds 0.5–1 cm deep in a seedling tray or directly in the pot.
    • Use Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix for better results.
    • Best time to sow: August to November, in the cool to mild season.
    • Keep it in a cool, bright spot and maintain good humidity.
    Germination
    • Seeds sprout in 4–7 days. Pak Choi is a very fast germinator.
    • Keep soil moist during this period.
    • Once sprouts appear, move to a bright spot with morning sun.
    Transplanting
    • Seedlings can be transplanted once they are 5–7 cm tall, usually after 15–20 days.
    • Transplant into a pot (at least 20 cm deep) with Ugaoo's Organic Veggie Mix.
    • Transplant in the evening to reduce stress.
    • Water well after transplanting.
    Growing
    • Needs 4–5 hours of sunlight daily. Tolerates partial shade.
    • Water regularly to keep soil consistently moist. Pak Choi wilts quickly in dry conditions.
    • Use a pot with drainage holes.
    • Space plants 20–25 cm apart, rows 25 cm apart.
    • Feed with cow manure every 15 days. Use neem cake and neem oil spray to keep pests away.
    Aftercare & Post-Harvest
    • Pak Choi bolts quickly when temperatures rise above 25°C.
    • If a central flower stalk appears, harvest immediately. Bolted leaves turn bitter.
    • Once the plant bolts, pull it out and sow fresh from August the following season.
    • Sow in batches every 3 weeks for a continuous supply through the cool months.
    Harvesting
    • Heads are ready in 45–60 days.
    • Harvest the entire head by cutting at the base.
    • Alternatively, harvest outer leaves as a cut-and-come-again from 30 days.
    • Harvest before the plant bolts and sends up a flower stalk.
