    About the Seeds

Yellow capsicum, also known as yellow bell pepper or sweet pepper (Capsicum annual), is becoming popular in urban India. It can be stuffed and cooked or sliced in salads. Yellow capsicum plants require more care and attention than most other vegetable crops to get proper yield. The plant needs daily 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight when grown in winter.

    FAQs

The fruits become ready for harvesting 45 to 50 days after transplanting. Harvesting can be done once a week for three to four months. Before the fruits ripen they are usually green and mild in flavour. They have a sweeter flavour when they are fully ripe with shiny yellow colour.

While picking, the fruits should be lifted gently after plant, without causing injury or breakage of the stem. Use scissors when harvesting the yellow capsicum. Do not pull the fruits away from the stems, as this may cause damage and provide an entry point for diseases.

Red or sandy loam soil with pH of 5.5 to 6.8 is ideal. Soil should be fine, loose and well aerated for successful crop growth.

Capsicum roots are very sensitive to too dry or too wet conditions. Soil must be kept moderately moist. Potted plants must be watered daily.
